A diagnostic ultrasound is ordered by your OB or midwife, performed in a clinical setting, and focused on medical assessment. There's often time pressure, limited guests allowed, and the focus is entirely on data — not on the experience.
An elective session at The Ultrasound Bar HD is something entirely different. It is a bonding experience — designed around you and your family. No clinical urgency, no rushing, no sterile hospital atmosphere. Just you, your baby, your loved ones, and a certified sonographer who genuinely loves what she does.

Before Your Appointment

When You Arrive
From the moment you step through our door, you'll notice this is nothing like a medical office. Our studio is designed to feel like a boutique spa — warm lighting, a welcoming atmosphere, and zero clinical coldness. You'll be greeted in English or Spanish (or both!), and we'll take a moment to get to know you before we begin.
During Your Session
Here's what happens step by step once your session begins:
Warm Gel Application
Michelle, our primary sonographer, applies warm ultrasound gel to your belly — no cold surprise here! The transducer is gently moved across your skin to find baby.
Baby on Screen — Live
Watch your baby in real time on the screen. 3D and 4D images are captured as we go, plus 5D/HD views when baby's position allows. This is the moment families cry, laugh, and fall even more in love.
Video Clip Recording
Key moments are recorded throughout your session — baby yawning, stretching, or waving. These clips will be emailed to you after your appointment.
Questions Welcome Throughout
Ask anything at any point. Michelle loves explaining what you're seeing and answering every question. No rush, no judgment.

Can I Bring Family & Friends?
Absolutely. This is a celebration, and celebrations are better together. Up to 4 people may accompany you — partners, parents, siblings, older children or close friends. We want this to be a shared memory — not a solo experience.
